HospiceCare provides total hospice care
In-home care teams have been available to provide hospice services to patients and their families in their own residence – be at their own private home, assisted living residence, nursing home and in the hospital, for over ten years. But with the opening of two new inpatient facilities, Florida Hospital HospiceCare is better able to meet the growing need for hospice care in Ormond Beach, Daytona Beach, Volusia and Flagler counties.
Newly renovated, the twelve bed inpatient unit opened at Florida Hospital Oceanside in March 2007. Here, hospice patients in need of continuous symptom control and monitoring receive 24/7 care in a “homelike setting”, before they return to their own home.
The eight-bed Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House opened in April 2007 as a general inpatient unit (GIP) designated for providing hospice care to a hospice patient with more acute needs, a place to come for care while their condition is stabilized.
